Terms of service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Receptionfy, an AI voice receptionist service for businesses. By using the service you agree to these terms.
2. Service description
The service answers inbound calls with an AI voice assistant (bookings, FAQs, appointments). Conversations are transcribed in text form and stored in your client area; voice is processed in real time through our telephony and AI providers. We do not store separate call audio files in our database.
3. Account
You must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account and for ensuring your use of the service complies with laws applicable to your callers (including notice and consent where required).
4. Subscription and billing
The service is offered by subscription (monthly or annual). Prices and currency shown on the site at checkout apply. Payment is recurring by card via Stripe. You may change or cancel from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the service lawfully and only for its intended purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, fraud, or illegal use.
6. Data and privacy
Personal data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy, in accordance with applicable data-protection laws (including the GDPR where it applies to you). You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and process your callers' data when using Receptionfy as a business customer. Hosting locations, subprocessors (including Stripe, Twilio, OpenAI, Google, MailerSend, and others listed in the Privacy Policy), international transfers, and your rights are set out in the Privacy Policy.
7. Availability and liability
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or lost revenue. Liability is limited to amounts paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Intellectual property
The service, software, and content are protected. You receive a non-exclusive right to use the service for the duration of your subscription.
9. Changes
We may modify these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in the client area. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Courts located in California shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where they cannot be waived.
